School SEN Information Report

Compass School is an inclusive provision focused on supporting children and young people to achieve their true potential in life.
Compass School provides an individualised programme to meet every pupil’s needs. The curriculum is differentiated and personalised to meet individual learning styles and to develop the pupil’s social and emotional skills.. The classes have high staff ratios allowing additional support to be given to pupils.

Some children and young people require further support which may include the following:

Additional assessments, for example dyslexia screening tests
Targeted nurture work
Education, Health and Care Plans

As a school we work very closely with other agencies to support all aspects of a young person’s life. In discussion with parents referrals may be submitted to the Educational Psychology Service, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and other agencies to provide additional strategies to support the young person.

If a young person has significant additional and complex needs, an Education Health and Care Plan may be explored.
