Compass School is the only provision in Southampton providing education and behavioural support for Key Stage 1 – 4 pupils permanently excluded or at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream school. The philosophy of ‘Nurture’ is central to the curriculum and addresses disrupted or distorted attachment apparent in many pupils. Compass School was graded as a ‘good provider’ by Ofsted in October 2017.

A vacancy has arisen for a committed and enthusiastic HLTA who is experienced in supporting pupils with a range of needs. The HLTA will be responsible for planning and providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant qualification including GCSE Grade C in English and maths (or equivalent). You will ideally have experience of working in a school environment in a teaching or teaching assistant role. You should have great organisational, communication and administration skills.

You will ned to be prepare to work both on site and of stie in various locations around the city.
