Saturn Class is an Intervention class, primarily for KS1 pupils, taught by Mrs Collins. Pupils attend Saturn class on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and attend their home schools on a Monday and Friday.

Communication with parents and carers takes place daily. A weekly assessment of progress towards behaviour and academic targets is shared with the home school. Compass School works in partnership with families, the home school and relevant agencies to support pupil’s transition onto their next education provision.

In Saturn class there is a clear focus on improving pupils’ skills in Learning to Learn as well as their progress in academic learning. This is delivered through the SPICE (Social, Physical, Intellectual, Creative and Emotional) curriculum enabling opportunities for skills development in independent learning whilst meeting their social and emotional needs.
