All pupil’s in Key Stage 4 follow AQA GCSE Science A. This course is particularly suited to pupil’s of all abilities. It encourages pupil’s to understand theoretical concepts alongside developing practical science skills.

This GCSE consists of 3 exams; biology, chemistry and physics, each worth 25%. Pupil’s also complete an Independent Skills Assessment (ISA) which is worth the final 25% of the GCSE.

Throughout the course there are numerous opportunities for pupil’s to work independently. This includes independent research and the design of experiments. Pupil’s are also able to carry out extended projects including climate change, the ethics of genetically modified organisms and bioluminescence.
