Attendance Initiative

Attendance is Out of This World!

At Compass School we are always striving to find new ways to encourage pupils to attend school every day.

Our latest Initiative is “Compass School Attendance is Out of This World” and this is proving very successful. We are currently displaying world maps in each of our four Zones, and the goal is for pupils to travel to different destinations by collecting miles awarded to them for attendance and other achievements.

Once pupils receive enough miles they are rewarded with a traditional healthy breakfast as eaten by the destination they have arrived at! Our first target was to travel from the UK to New York (3,000 miles) where bagels, hot dogs, pancakes and waffles were waiting for us. Already, our amazing pupils have exceeded this destination travelling an extra 505 miles so far and are on their way to the next destination, Rio De Janeiro, which is now 3,995 miles away!

Throughout the year we also hope to travel to Nairobi, Sydney, China and Athens before returning home.

It’s not only the pupils who get rewarded for their amazing efforts, staff also get to have a dip in the box when they go above and beyond in supporting the new initiative.
